How our Robot Got it's Name
This year Tech High Robotics chose to name our robot Glory Angel. While this name may seem a bit over the top for a machine, we named it after the screen name of our good friend and former team member, Sara Baker.
Last October Sara was in a terrible car accident and is lucky to be alive today. She was in a coma for a short while but with time her body, mind, and soul are slowly recovering. Sara is now battling what doctors call "Locked-In Syndrome" which means that she it unable to move her voluntary muscles. Even through this terrible ordeal Sara and her family have not given up. Even though Sara cannot communicate with words she still is talking up a storm by communicating with her eyes.
Sara is the most courageous young woman that this group of students at Tech High has ever known. She keeps positive and works hard to help herself get better so she can get to live the beautiful and caring life she thrives in, making the world a better place, one person at a time. We have named our robot in honor of the selfless and courageous Sara Baker and her family. Our hearts and prayers go out to you Sara!
